[masked]AMC Monthly member meetings are being held at a new location. The Granite Reef Senior Center at 1700 N. Granite Reef Road, in Scottsdale, located approximately 1 mile west of the McDowell Rd. exit of the 101 East . Aaron Locander will be giving a presentation about his through hike of the John Muir Trail in 2008. The John Muir Trail is 220 miles long that connects the Yosemite Valley with Mt. Whitney. The trail winds it way through the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The trail traverses many high mountain passes up to 13,000 feet high to lush green meadows full of wildflowers. Come listen to Aaron recount his 18 day trip while viewing some amazing photos, and fun stories.
Aaron has a diverse outdoor resume from through hiking the 480 mile Colorado Trail when he was 19 solo, to climbing all 54 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado. Aaron also has descended over 100 technical canyons, and enjoys the occasional rock climb. Aaron is also an avid photographer and has been published in four books and a calendar.Please join us!
