Find out what it’s like to be a guard in a large jail. India Davis is a Corrections Captain at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex, where she oversees prisoner intake housing, and facilities for over 2000 prisoners and 600 staff. With a degree in accounting, Davis has also worked in forensic accounting. In the army, she worked in electronic counter-warfare.
Afternoon Writing Workshop:
Practice writing, based on a prompt suggested by the speaker’s topic. Attendees can write solo or in a group, then we share our masterpieces. Afternoon also includes a handout with info like writing contests, tutorials, and informative web sites.
Join us, the second Saturday of each month, September through May, at El Parador Restaurant 2744 East Broadway Blvd. (East of Tucson Blvd), 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for fascinating speakers and learning the craft of writing mystery. $20 non-members and walk-ins includes lunch; $15 RSVP’d members. $10 for one session, morning or afternoon, no lunch.
