One future topic I'd like to learn more about is microsites: http://www.creativebloq.com/web-design/5-brilliant-microsites-8135477

Does anyone from the group have experience with these?

Here's that plugin that posts content to social networks: http://wordpress.org/plugins/microblog-poster/

It's on my list to check out, but I'd love to hear feedback if someone else checks it out.

So, after doing a bit more research, my opinion is the best way to auto-post new blog content to social networks is to set up an RSS feed in Hootsuite for publishing. Doing this allows you to choose what networks and how often. There is one other plugin that seems to be popular for auto-publishing to social networks: http://wordpress.org/.... Seems like they were trying to let you auto-publish OLD blog posts, but ended up killing the feature and it only works for new blog posts. Now, if I can find something to auto-publish old posts, that would be great too.

Hi All, Glad you enjoyed the Asana preview. I meant to share a link to the Site Specific Browser tools I use to make web apps feel like their own apps on my computer:
Fluid App (like cloning Safari): http://fluidapp.com/
    Chrome SSB: https://github.com/lhl/chrome-ssb-osx

Both of those are Mac specific but I'm sure there are Windows equivalents out there :) Please let us know if you guys think of any discussion topics or presentations you want to see! I really enjoyed the first meetup - excited for June!

For Lori - here's some info on Streak. It is a CRM that lives in Gmail. I use it for tracking deals, but probably mostly for the other awesome features like send later, mail merge, read receipts and snippets.

Just a reminder... This in not a WordPress Meetup. It's geared towards people in the business of web design/development and will deal more with business topics in the web business.

I'm just beginning web design but am interested in turning it into a business...will this meeting be effective for me to attend or is it more for those advanced and well into the field?

    April 30, 2014

    • Carol S.

This is definitely for those who are more advanced and already in the field. However, I would never discourage someone from coming if you are interested. It is just important to realize the content and if you are hoping to learn WordPress skills, this is not the the right location. There are 3 other Meetups that address those.

Remember that this Meetup is for anyone in the web design/development business and is not limited to WordPress professionals.

Guys thank you for the invite, I will definitely attend in the future, unfortunately I can't make this one as my daughter is performing in a play that evening.

I am very excited about this meetup. Thanks to @Chris Diamond and @Maura Teal for getting this meetup together. Many times we talk about WordPress technically, but those of us who make our living using WordPress will benefit greatly from this meetup where we talk about the Business of Web. :-) Very excited!!!!
