The meeting was excellent. Brandy always does a great job and Ryan's presentation was awesome. Thanks, Ryan, for coming to the meetup and sharing your knowledge, especially while you were on vacation.

Great new location (Elevate Coffee @ Happy Valley near I-17), and the content was very helpful and informative. Brandy Lawson is an excellent host/facilitator and we also had a special guest speaker, Ryan Manougian, from WP-Engine (managed WP hosting).

Ugh... despite it looking like everything went right, the live stream and recording to YouTube didn't actually work. (sigh) Guess I have to have someone in the audience testing it next month.

Great job last night even thought the live stream didn't work:). The google information was fantastic & backed up an article I had read. Very helpful. Got me excited to work on my sites!!! Thanks

Looking forward to meeting everyone. My background starts in digital marketing portfolio's for SMB and service based companies. I have always helped customers in some fashion acquire new business and the last 5 years I have focused on helping companies like LexisNexis and WP Engine attempt to build world class sales organizations. I'll keep my presentation to about 20 minutes with the mindset that I can probably provide more value for the topics of this meeting with a heavy Q and A session. Thank you for the hospitality and allowing me into the WP NW Valley Family!

Late breaking news... We are going to have a guest speaker tomorrow night! Ryan Manougian of WP Engine happens to be in Phoenix and has graciously agreed to come talk to us about what is going on over at WP Engine.

Just a reminder that our location has changed, we are meeting at Elevate Coffee. They have delicious food and beverages, so if you want to grab a drink or snack before we get started, be sure to arrive a bit early to get your order in.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Have we ever meet up at someone's home? or is that not in the best interest of the group?

    May 31, 2014

    • Mark R.

I'm not opposed to that Michael. Did you have a home in mind?

What do you folks think about meeting at Elevate (coffee shop)

    http://www.elevatecoffee.com/norterra-room/

They have a nice meeting room and the wifi has always been good to me there. They have:

Full media access, including: large 60” HD TV, Satellite TV, VGA/HDMI computer connections, and Blu-Ray video
    High-quality surround-sound
    Wireless internet
Comfortable seating with a variety of lighting options
Spectacular views of the Arizona outdoor landscaping
Easy parking and access to the entertainment, shopping and other amenities of The Shops at Norterra

We can rent the meeting room for $35 for the first hour and $30 an hour after that. If we want to hang out after the meetup we can just go into the coffee shop. If you haven't been there, you should go check it out. And if we decide to have a meeting there we can reserve it. The sooner the better for reservations.

It's at I-17 and Happy Valley.

That looks like a great option. We'll certainly have to check it out. Thanks Madison.

Great suggestion! I do really like Elevate. I have a lead on another potential meeting place. I'll see how that pans out and if not we will definitely check out Elevate.
