Mirror sites?

Hi All,

I've got a client whose previous web designer recommended that she setup a mirror site so that she can have her site on two domains and now she's wanting me to do this for her. One domain is compact and easy to remember, that's what she wants clients to use, but the long version of the domain is keyword heavy and she doesn't want to give that up. Does anyone mirror sites anymore? How does it affect SEO and duplicate content penalties?

Thanks! Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!

There's no seo value. You only end up diluting your efforts by trying to support two sites. I would 301 redirect the second site to the first and be done with it asap.

Yup, what Trace said. That's so 1995 of her. It'll work against you.
