Carbine Barricade Scooting and Shooting

  • Sep 21, 2013 · 9:00 AM

Come join us for some training on shooting from cover and moving from cover skills, topics covered will include:

•  safety review

• knowing the difference between cover and concealment

• concepts for shooting from behind cover

• two man coordinated movement

• suppressive techniques

• shooting on the move

• and as always, throughout the event we will introduce tips and tricks to enhance your shooting skill. We may even introduce some challenges throughout the day.

I suggest around 200 rounds of carbine ammunition for the day, but as always this is a "shoot as much or as little as you want to" event as ammunition prices have still not stabilized.

As usual, bring plenty of water and dress appropriately for the desert environment.  This is a rain or shine event, so keep an eye on the forecast if it makes a difference in how you dress.

This event will be hosted by both me and Honeybadger. Please direct any inquiries directly to us.

Regards,
Ruiner

Really enjoyed the training and you can't beet the cost. I appreciate your dedication to keeping the training safe. I would agree with Steven on this one. As long as we can stay safe a little more trigger time would be excellent!

Thanks Steve! I had a great day too. Glad you felt it was helpful. And thank you for the suggestion. We are still working out the bugs. Any tips, like what you suggested are helpful to us, to help train better, and keep everyone happy.

Great job, Matt and Jeromy. It was a good day of training. Material covered was progressive and well instructed. I look forward to continuing on with some of these skills with you.

My only constructive suggestions would be to hammer in the training more - more trigger time, more rapid drills, shorter breaks, and faster pace. So long as things are safe, don't be afraid to push us.

    Well done, gentlemen.

So I will definitely be there. But lost the use of my truck just this morning. So will definitely need a ride up to the spot from where we are leaving the cars.

Not a problem, I still have room for you in my jeep. Please have your gear consolidated as much as possible.

Claymore, if you could bring your table(s) that would be great, this meetup filled fast toward the end and I don't think my two tables will be enough.

What needs to be brought? My boyfriend and I are not very experienced and neither of us owns a weapon. I kinds fell into this group from a previous one I was in so I don't want to waste time or space if we are too inexperienced.

Hi Melanie! While this event is geared more towards more experienced shooters, there is no reason you couldn't join us and at least observe and learn, considering the cost (FREE!). As far as not owning a firearm, we do have a loaner firearm available for a $100 cash deposit which will be returned to you at the end of the event if the firearm is in good condition. Because we have no minimum round count, and your lack of experience, I suggest using the loaner option and doing the event dry fire, you can then participate, be no danger to others and spend nothing more than your time.

I will be sending out additional information as to what to bring and wear, as well as where we will be meeting. Now that you are on the RSVP list you will receive that email as well. If you have not received the email by this evening, let me know.

Not a problem if you are running late, however the trail vehicle train will have left the station by then and hopefully you have a vehicle capable of the journey. If you don't think you'll be at the rally point by 9:20 send me an email and I will give you GPS coordinates of our final spot and rough driving directions.

We'll be repeating these so everyone gets a chance. They'll likely be 2-3 months apart so it should give ample time to plan.
