Transitions/Reloads/Scoot 'n Shoot

  • October 19, 2013 · 9:00 AM

Come join us for some training on shooting from cover and moving from cover skills, topics covered will include:

•  safety review

First half of the meetup:

• drawing a sidearm from a hip holster

• drawing a sidearm from a thigh rig

• combining the drawing of a side arm with stowing a carbine (transitions)

• review of speed/tactical reloading of carbine/sidearm

• lunch/hydration break

The second half of the meetup

• drills utilizing the techniques from the first half

• and as always, throughout the event we will introduce tips and tricks to enhance your shooting skill. We may even introduce some challenges throughout the day.

I suggest around[masked] rounds of carbine ammunition and 100 rounds of sidearm ammunition for the day, but as always this is a "shoot as much or as little as you want to" event as ammunition prices have *still* not stabilized.

As usual, bring plenty of water and dress appropriately for the desert environment.  This is a rain or shine event, so keep an eye on the forecast if it makes a difference in how you dress.

This event will be hosted by both me and Honeybadger. Please direct any inquiries directly to us.

Regards,
Ruiner

How about south of 74 near the quintero golf course. That's all public land.

That's alright, most of the drills can be run with sidearms. No worries.

Yes, I apologize for being later than usual, work has been killer. A location has been selected, and an email has just went out to all members RSVP'ing for the event. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

It will be about a 50 minute drive. Many of us come from the Mesa/Tempe/Scottsdale area, so you can ask around to car pool if this is too far a drive.

This will likely be held in the Lake Pleasant area. We are constantly looking for public land (or private land with permission) to shoot on, please feel free to make suggestions if you know of an area.

Damnit. Gladiator run that morning, already paid. 7K with mud, ice pools, barbed wire trenches, walls, and other obnoxiousness (you gents should join in!). I could make it out by late morning, so it will depend on what time you start.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
