Introduction

Hi. We are members of the Freewheelers, Tucson Sport Bike groups and the Iron Butt Association. I like to ride long distance, so this group is a good fit. My wife Debbie sold her bike and likes to join me on rides.

What type of motorcycle do you ride? How long have you been riding?

For long distance we prefer my Yamaha FJR, but will also take my Star Stratoliner 1900 on long rides that don't include too many twisties. I also have my Yamaha FZ1 set up for solo sport touring. For off road adventure touring I have a Suzuki DR 650. We've been riding our whole life. Built my first minibike in 1969 and bought our first motorcycle in 1974; a Honda CB360. Debbie and I have been riding together since then.

How long have you lived in Tucson? Where is your hometown?

Debbie and I moved here in August 2009. We are both from Euclid, Ohio.

How did you find Arizona Long Riders? Website? Friend?

Our son sent us a link to the Tucson Sportbike and Freewheelers MeetUp groups before we even moved here. When the Long Riders was founded we were invited to be charter members.

Where is your favorite place to ride? Feel free to suggest ride destinations.

Locally, Mt Lemmon is a favorite. In AZ, I like the Salt River Canyon, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Beyond AZ, I like the Rockies, Ozarks, Black Hills and Blue Ridge Mountains. An Alaska ride is on the bucket list.

Great video and music. You guys took the scenic route. We lost you guys at Speedway and I-10 so we just followed the bikes in front of us lol.

Hey! Back recovery is coming along but I am not supposed to ride for 6-8 weeks from the date of the surgery (Oct10). It's too early to tell if the surgery has rersolved the problem, but we will have to wait and see. The southern NM trip will probably have to wait until spring. I appreciate your concern and can't wait til we can ride again.

Your videos were great! I am ready to try that out now. Are you sure you are riding a bike, I was ready to see it take off into the sky. It hauls lol. I don't know if my spyder will ever get there lol. No wonder I can't keep up! Great job!

Great job on the video Mike. Enjoyed meeting and riding with all. I retraced steps looking for my GPS cover but no luck. Tons of tire tread along the shoulder!
