I want to do this as well...but just not experienced. I may change my rsvp to 'going' ? Also wondering...I saw that this is an all ages event. Is anybody bringing their kids? Mine are 12 and up. Thank you!! :)

Yes kids are welcome but make sure they wear properly fitting life vest and they stick with you or other people who can assist them in case they go into the water and also to not get lost on the water.

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering if an experience paddler might be willing to add a tag along to their boat. I've never been canoeing or kayaking before. I'm very interested in going, and thought this would be a unique experience.

Hi Dara, sorry just saw this, but a lot of us do have pull along set ups, so yes, you can join us on another paddle.

Fun night everyone, thanks for coming out, a big group of around 70, wow! That was a fantastic reverse sunset, actually in the east sky instead of the west, cool shaped pink clouds with lightning in the distance. If you missed this one, we will be launching at the same area on August 17th.

I am also interested but do not have a kayak and am not familiar with the area. The link in the description above is missing an 'A' in the word 'pleasant'. From what I can tell Scorpion Bay has boat rentals but it does not look like it is near Desert Tortoise Road. Scorpion Bays address is Peninusla Road. If someone could please let us know as it looks like a few of us would like to attend but need a few more details.
    Thanks in advance!

Scorpion Bay does not rent their kayaks out anymore during the evening. If Jared does not rent you a kayak, try Dylan at[masked]-6900. He sometimes brings them out for you.

      Thank you!

If Jared will not work for you call Dylan at AZ hiking Shack[masked] and see if he is bringinig any rental kayaks out to the paddle. Jared is renting out kayaks that night but only on the Pleasant Harbor Marina side, and it is a bit far to paddle over to the group, so you may want to just paddle in the coves over there if renting from Jared. Hope you can at least get on the water for a nice Full Moon.

Hi Cindy Bear. I buy glowsticks in red and green from the dollar store. The red in the rear of the kayak and the green in the front. It's legal and works great if you don't want to invest in lighting. I only night paddle occasionally so this works for me. Have a great time. Miss you Chicka!

Jared the kayak guy is pretty cool, he has had some available at desert tortoise in the past. ask him and maybe he can work it out for you.

I dont own a kayak. This would be my first time. Would renting be a possibility?

I am interested going. I do not have my own kayak/canoe. Also, I have limited experience with it. I'm excited about being out on the water under the moon. :-)
