///READ Driving Directions Below\\\

The way to Show Low is by long winding mountainous roads.There are only sparse facility's, and little or no cell service once you leave Globe or Payson. Fuel up in these places, check tires, and don't take chances. Text messages travel better than phone calls if you do run into any problems.[masked] Kathleen

There are two ways to travel. One is through Payson I 87 to I 260 and the other is through Globe I 60 to I 77. Both ironically join at the McDonalds at the end of town. Turn according to signs when you reach McDonalds (right 87 to 260 Payson) (left 60 to 77 Globe) I found the fastest way from Phoenix was through Globe. It takes about an hour off travel time.

Once you are in Show Low take Deuce of Clubs Road to the other side of town. When you reach Penrod N Road/77 You will see a Maverick Gas Station on that Intersection. Turn Right going away from the Maverick driving approx 8 miles to Scotts Reservoir Drive (small sign) will be on your left side. You will see buildings to your right across from Scotts Reservoir Rd. If you get to the round about you went to far. Turn back!

If you bring your own horse come the Payson way, and bring portable stall or hobbles. Horses are allowed in the campsite, and there are non-stop trails in this area.

Contact Kathleen at [masked] or Marsha [masked] for questions about this event. We may add a horse back trip to this event before the date so watch for it

Night Life! We will be going to the Hon-dah Casino during this trip. Check out the web page!

    Thank you Marsha and Kathleen for a great week-end. It was nice seeing old members and meeting some new ones.

    Kathleen, thank you for making sure that Cedric and I were safe on Sunday night by taking us into your home and for "forcing me" to eat a wonderfully delicious breakfast. Thank you Eric for sharing your 20 year old aged rum...never drank rum straight before...yum yum.

    I enjoyed spending my week-end with a wonderful, caring group of outstanding people. I am looking forward to seeing everyone next time.

      Wait, now I may not even get there then. I'm watching someone's dog and his international flight is getting delayed, but it is a beagle I do not want to have to camp with because he has really bad food manners. So...I'll see you when I see you, if I see you. :-)

      Thought not very familiar with the area. The camping az, falcon guide, shows others campgrounds very close by. An internet search or a call to Apache sitgreaves ranger station may help, for those considering joining, and wanting "more space."
