March 1-March 31: Tulip Extravaganza Depending on the mood of Mother Nature, the Gardens’ annual exhibit of spring color, including 121,000 vibrant tulips, daffodils, and then of thousands of fragrant hyacinths, hundreds of red, pink, and white azaleas, and thousands of delicate dogwood blossoms will be on center stage for a show like no other in the Natural State. Garven Woodland Gardens is host Children's Series: "Wildflower Walk" March 23rd 2-4 p.m. - Meet at Train Deck, Garden Grounds
Join Garden Education Director Megan Bradshaw for a walk through the Gardens to find blooming wildflowers and perennials. Participants will receive a package of native wildflower seeds to take home. After the walk, children will create a wildflower coloring book and field guide to take with them as well. Children must be accompanied by a parent or other adult; adult chaperones are admitted free. The cost is $10 per child for members or $12 per child for non-members. The program is open to children ages 6-12; class size is limited to 12 children. Advance registration is required.
