Big Creek Cave Falls

Let's join the TAKAHIK group on another outing.

We will do some exploring along the Left Fork of Big Creek and check out a very unique waterfall that pours out of a cave.

Here is the Takahik page for this area: http://www.takahik.com/trails/b...

There are several waterfalls (assuming we have rain) down in this drainage.

The area we will explore is located north of Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 16 (Deer) intersection and off to the east.

This bushwhack is a 3-mile round trip rated moderate/difficult.

Be prepared to cross a few creeks.

Meet at Tucker Coliseum at 8:00 A.M. with your day pack and lunch.

We may hike on up Wolf Creek and explore several caves, this part is more difficult.

We can expect to be back in Little Rock by about 3 or 4 P.M.

I drive an aloe green Toyota Camry. Look for me at the Park-N-Ride or at the Tucker Coliseum. - Jerry

Thinking about taking the family here. Our children are ages 17, 14, 7, and 3 and we have always went hiking at different state parks all over the U.S. Would this be too difficult for them, even if we took our time? Or would it be okay? Thanks for any and all advice. Either way, it looks gorgeous and definitely adding it to our list of "must-go" places.

There isn't a square inch of my body that isn't scraped or bruised, but it was worth it. Looking forward to the next one.

Is anybody coming from/passing through Conway?

I am -- at least that's what Google maps tells me.

I'll be taking my SUV. I can seat at -least- 2 others if they don't mind riding with my dog. I can fit 3 or 4 if I can get my dog to ride in the back, lol.

I haven't been on any meetup's yet, so basically I just show up?

    February 19, 2013

    • Stacy

Yes. Just show up. There's info in the comments below about carpooling if you're interested. Just be sure to wear a funny hat so we know you're part of our group. I'm kidding. Sort of.

So out of 15 people attending this no one knows of a camping site close to where we are meeting up

I hear there is this thing called the internet where you can find all sorts of information. Or just ask Jerry because he's like a camping encyclopedia.

    February 10, 2013

    • Christy

Mark, it is my understanding that the Takahik group allows dogs. If I'm able to go, I might try to bring mine.

I'm a maybe. I might try to bring the dog with me.

one more question is there a tent site anywhere around there because the 3 hour drive from my home to the meet place would be alot of work before a hike id like a place that i could sleep the night before
