Dushanbe Teahouse

The Dushanbe Teahouse was created in 1987, as a gift to the city of Boulder, from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Forty artisans from Tajikistan handmade the teahouse over a period of two years, took it apart, and then packed the pieces into about 200 crates to be shipped to Boulder. The craft and skill, used by the artisans were passed from generation to generation within families, such as the use of nature and repetition of patterns from traditional Persian design. Also, no power tools were used in the original construction of the tea house.

Getting a reservation for a large group at the Teahouse on the weekend is no easy task, but we do have a reservation for 4:30pm. However, being a large group, they will be asking us to order from a limited fixed price menu. I’ve requested separate checks for our group.

They do need an exact headcount the night before the event, so please only sign up if you’re certain you will attend, and not just to hold a spot. Do not cancel the day of the event!
For those driving from Denver, carpooling would be a good idea. People can connect in the chat area below.

I see that there were a few people who wanted to carpool from the central Denver area. I'm in the Capitol Hill area and also interested in carpooling. I was looking for a place where we could have a group meet and leave our cars, but couldn't come up with a place. (Most parking lots, like supermarkets, have signs that say you'll be towed if you leave your car.) Since I don't want to take any chances, we could meet at my place where you are free to park along the street, even if you may have to drive around a bit looking for a spot. If you're interested in meeting up here and then going together, let me know and I'll send you my address.

My plans aren't firm, so someone else should go. I look forward to the next great event, Jennifer.

Keep my guest, Michael, on waitlist as he was until 1 spot opened up for me.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do that. The site isn't set up that way. At this point, the best thing would be for him to sign up for the group and put himself on the wait list... and there is no guarantee he will get in since he has to go through the process just like everyone else. It's hard to get off the waitlist if you intend to bring a guest since there is normally only one spot open at a time.

Calender has me scheduled for something else. My mistake. Have an interesting evening that day just the same.

Catch up with you at an Italian language at some point. Ciao
