What begins as a typical World War II movie becomes a tense Hitchcockian thriller. With the Germans invading Poland, a photographer hides a young Jewish woman in the basement, much to his daughter’s consternation. After his arrest, the women form an increasingly obsessive and intimate bond
Ester, who left a lover when the occupation began, starts to rebel against her confinement. But Janka will go to any lengths to keep Ester near her. Things start to crumble as neighbors begin to wonder about the loud noises in Janka’s apartment. And then people begin to “disappear.”

If you're interested in this movie, don't wait to sign up! Tickets for the Starz Film Festival often sell out long before the day of the show!
I was able to purchase advance tickets for this film. Since I’ve already paid for the all tickets, there is a payment required at time of RSVP for this event. The movies at the Starz Film Festival often sell out way ahead of time, so you would need to buy tickets in advance anyway. If everyone bought tickets online, we would each have to pay an additional $4 transaction fee. This way, we bypass that fee, and nobody has to make a special trip down to the theater to pick up a ticket ahead of time.
