Georgetown Outdoor European Christmas Market

The Georgetown Christmas Market is an outdoor European marketplace with handcrafted gifts in addition to Georgetown's charming shops that are open year-round. Unique shops showcase Christmas ornaments and decorations, Victorian items for the home, art, Colorado wine, rare books, jewelry, clothing, antiques, and gifts.

The Market will also feature food vendors so we’ll be able to have lunch as we wander the outdoor market. Wassail (mulled cider, a warm holiday beverage originally from the south of England), and Glogg (Mulled wine was popular in Victorian England at Christmas) will also be available. This is the final weekend of the Georgetown Christmas Market!

On the program for December 8th are choral performances, a Santa Lucia Children's Procession, and a performance by the Welsh Society Dancers & Singers.

Admission is free. You’ll need money (I imagine cash) for anything you eat/drink, shopping money if you plan on buying something, and a few dollars to contribute to the driver you ride with.

We’ll carpool from the Park n Ride, which is located just south of Simms and 6th St. I have a white VW golf and will try to park in a spot that is adjacent to 2nd Place. Depending on the group size, we may need a few drivers. Please remember to give your driver a few $ for gas money. We’ll be leaving the Park n Ride at 10:00am, which means you need to be there before that! We will return to the Park n Ride by 5:00pm at the latest, so you’ll be free to plan other evening activities.

I'm still in but I have four wheel drive and a little snow doesn't slow me down. However, I will defer to the majority vote.

I don't think a little snow should be a problem, but a four wheel drive would be better in case we're wrong. Can you be one of the drivers? Not sure how many people we'll end up having so we may need another driver as well. How many would fit in your car?

Unfortunately it is a truck and is only a two seater and Mingo has his spot reserved.

The event is on! I've seen a few different weather forecasts now and they agree that there will be snow on Saturday. In Georgetown, it should be light during the day and then heavier in the evening. Plan on being at the Park n Ride before 10:00am. We'll definitely be leaving from the Park n Ride at 10:00am, so we don't get up there too late. If the weather isn't looking good up there, we'll just come back a bit earlier than expected, but it should be a good day and the snow will definitely add to the charm!

Hi Jennifer, Please accept my regrets, but I will be unable to attend Saturday. I forgot about our monthly breakfast down at the Lodge where I will be flipping pancakes, cooking eggs, etc. Have fun, and I hope to catch up with your group soon.

As of now, Dec 8th the mountains are supposed to get a lot of snow. Of course it could change but I don't want to risk it so I'm going to Georgetown tomorrow 12/2 just in case. Will miss some of the events but I figured it is better to go at all.

Enjoy the market tomorrow then! Was that a weather forecast on the news or something? I just checked the wunderground.com forecast for Georgetown and right now the forecast for Dec. 8th is 39 degrees, partly cloudy with no chance of precipitation. I'm crossing my fingers still.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
