Whiskey Watercolor Society of Florida

The Whiskey Watercolor Society of Florida meets once a year. Now is the time.

Come with an open mind, watercolors and a bit of whiskey to fill your shot glass. We are a spin off of the Whiskey Watercolor Society of the US. You don't have to drink the whiskey (unless you want to). We use it as the liquid to paint with.            So bring your art supplies and whiskey or ask me to loan you art supplies ($6). Everyone gets 2 shot glasses. One for the liquid and one to drink from. So bring whatever you like to drink. I will share with you the history of the Whiskey Watercolor Society or the US. And we will actually do 2 paintings, maybe 3?

So sign up, come out and then you can tell your friends you belong to the Whiskey Watercolor Society of Florida. And show them your painting. Because everyone leaves with 2 finished paintings. Class is $22. Please RSVP. Space is limited.

Feel free to ask any questions. Demonstration and guidance will be given as always. Beginners are invited. Come out and try it. Fun.

I'd really looked forward to this class, and am disappointed that aside from the matchbox, we were basically coloring in the instructor's drawings. I don't feel a work is mine unless I create it from start to finish. I could understand us coloring in 1 or 2 pre-drawn pieces as warm ups, to get used to the whiskey, but after that, I was very anxious to start drawing. Even if we'd all drawn the same thing, I'd have preferred that.

Hi. I wish you had said something to me. It would have been fine for you to draw and paint on your own. Not all are comfortable or able to do that. I wish you the best.

I learnt a lot today in using a watercolor set. a simple water color set that one can use to create pictures. I learnt how to create the different colours for the paintigs . and had great fun listening to my fellow painters and talking about very interesting tropics. And enjoyed using whiskey as a medium

Thanks Penny. I am so glad you had a good time. That's what art is all about.

Painted with whiskey as a medium for watercolor yesterday. It was a lot of fun. The whiskey pulls the paint in different directions when you mix it on your pallet. Very neat. I painted 4 small card like paintings and the cover of a book of matches. So much fun. The other artists were funny and quite informative. Lol. Looking forward to the next class. Lynette wood the artist instructor was very helpful and encouraging.

Is there a particular type of watercolor set you recommend that we bring? I have a small tube set and a larger pan set.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
