Drawing from research by Engineers Australia and The Rationalist Society of NSW, together with a few sculptures noted by Gilbert, we present a tour of items of engineering, industrial and artistic interest, together with landmarks in Sydney ( and Australia's ) development of freedoms - the such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom from convict transportation and the freedom to strike.
Cost is $10, meeting at central station on the entrance to the intercity terminal close to the taxi ranks at 10.30.
We anticipate having a bit of a break for toilets, coffee etc. around the Rocks museum in, well, the Rocks - but we also hope to have a few beers and maybe a meal at the Pumphouse Brewery in Darling Harbour at the end of the tour.
Weather is looking a bit iffy - we'll make a call on the weather at 09:00 tomorrow and reschedule if we need to.
