Costume or Fashion? Free Lecture

Unfashioning Costume Design May 21, 2014, 7pm

Booth Moore, Fashion Critic for the Los Angeles Times and contributor to the Hollywood Costume catalogue, contrasts fashion design and costume design, noting the differences in goals, methods, and spheres of influence.

Well, if you appreciated the lecture about the Oscars fashion, then this is a sequel to add to it!  Is there a difference between fashion and costume?  Sometimes it seems not...lol!  This should be informative, as the Phoenix Art Museum lectures typically are!

As always, the museum is Free from 3-9 pm on Wednesdays, so if you have a chance, come browse before the lecture starts - there will be maybe 30-45 minutes after the lecture to do so before the guards usher you out.

Meet Kaz in front of Whitman Hall INSIDE next to the Great Hall at 6:40 pm. Free parking in the lot AND at the United Methodist Church lot to the North, also!

As usual, another outstanding lecture at the museum - Booth Moore gave an excellent presentation comparing and contrasting costume design and fashion design, and how they are now crossing over. Her slides well illustrated what she verbally conveyed. Wish my daughter could have heard such a presentation before she got her degree in costume design!
