Quality of Art?

It's been a great journey with the Art Salon attendees.  We organically create the agenda for the upcoming discussion based on what was inspired in the moment.  April's gathering ... was it THE BEST YET??  Well, it certainly was for many of us as we discussed all aspects of "the meaning of art."   We were so engaged, we didn't even stop for our usual brownie and beverage break, we just kept on talking and sharing our life experiences.  At the conclusion the group talked about the discussion topic for May ... THE QUALITY OF ART.

How does one measure the quality of art?  When is it high quality versus low?  When is it a work of craft versus a work of art?  What are the required formal qualities present  in order for a piece to be considered fine art?  What is the work worth?  Is it high enough quality to be exhibited, or should it be withheld? How do you judge the quality of work?

Look forward to seeing you on May 8th.  Please arrive before 6:55pm when the doors are on automatic lock-down.

We are inspired by the following quote:

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. - Albert Schweitzer

We welcome you to come to Art Salon For Fertile Minds to inspire and be inspired

Look forward to seeing you at a future gathering.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
