Attack Theatre presents the world premiere of "Soap Opera"
A great story has the power to prolong the inevitable
"Soap Opera" features original works of contemporary dance in a mashup with opera classics and live performances by Pittsburgh Opera resident artist Nicole Rodin.
This evening length performance tells the tale of a talented musical couple as she prepares herself and her husband for his expected passing, holding witness through the stories and adventures before embracing his inevitable departure.
"Soap Opera" draws inspiration from the classic tale of Scheherazade and the Persian King, where imparting one great story after another allowed her to survive for 1,001 nights. Attack Theatre expands and re-imagines this great tale to give it contemporary relevance and impact.
As the main character of "Soap Opera" lives through his last moments, the great stories come to life before him in the form of dance and opera music.
