CMU Faces of Media - Crocodile in the Yangtze (China, 2012)

The 2013 Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival: Faces of Media will showcase 2012 Chinese and USA documentary, Crocodile in the Yangtze, on Friday, March 22, at 7:00pm at the McConomy Auditorium in CMU’s University Center!  The screening will feature the Opening Reception for “Goodman Faces of Work” with Chinese food specialties, and a screening of Dr. Paul Goodman’s short film CERT! A discussion with director Porter Erisman will follow the film!

Crocodile in the Yangtze shares the inspiring story of renowned entrepreneur Jack Ma and the challenges and controversies he and his company encountered, including a high profile battle against U.S. online giant eBay, on their journey to build China’s first global Internet company, Alibaba Group.  Written, directed, and produced by Porter Erisman, an American who worked in Ma’s company for eight years, the film presents a strikingly candid and compelling portrait of Ma and his company as Alibaba grew from a small apartment into a global company employing more than 16,000 people.

Presented in conjunction with Goodman Faces of Work and is supported by The Chinese Student & Scholar Association @ Carnegie Mellon University.

Regular Admission*:
$5 seniors and students | $8 general
* $3 discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more
