The Brew House Gallery and its residency program, Distillery 7, are proud to present[masked]° N,[masked]° W—an exhibition of work from 10 of Buffalo's finest artists in a range of media—which opens with a reception on Saturday, March 23, 2013, from 7–9 p.m., in the Brew House gallery, Space 101, located at 2100 Mary St in the South Side.
The opening is free to the public, and offers an opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists. Refreshments, beer and wine will also be available!
This exhibition, so named as they are the GPS coordinates for the city of Buffalo, New York, is a result of a cross-city partnership between Distillery 7, in Pittsburgh, and The Buffalo Arts Studio (B.A.S.) for an extensive engagement with four interactions over the six-month period. Participants in the each of the programs will have the opportunity to meet and exhibit their work in the partner city.
Those missing the opening reception may also check out the exhibit[masked]° N,[masked]° W during March 27–May 4. The gallery is typically open to the public on Wednesdays–Saturdays from noon–4 p.m. Admission is free.
Details of the exhibit:
The Buffalo artists include: Catherine Willett, Jody Selin, Karen Buchner, David Buck, Dennis Barraclough, Fotini Galanes, Dennis Bertram, Kathleen Sherin, Hyeyoung Shin, and Deborah Stewart.
Also of note in this unique Buffalo-Pittsburgh collaboration is that on June 8, 2013 the Distillery 7 will present an exhibition of their own artwork at The Buffalo Arts Studio entitled, "[masked]° N,[masked]° W" -- which are, yes -- the coordinates for Pittsburgh, PA!
This year's Distillery is facilitated by Kara Skylling and Jill Larson.
