The 2013 Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival: Faces of Media will present 2012 Finnish documentary, The Punk Syndrome, on Thursday, April 11, at 7pm at the McConomy Auditorium in CMU’s University Center! The event will also feature a performance by Pittsburgh punk rock band Brightside and a reception!
This fascinating documentary follows Perti Kurikka's Name Day, a punk band currently climbing its way to popularity in Finland. Filmed amidst practice jams, tours, and an upcoming album release, The Punk Syndrome, captures the band's passion for honest punk music in an alternative culture of "misfits" and their desires for real social change. The film is a thrilling and graceful look at a band that shows no sign of giving up or backing down.
Presented in conjunction with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Regular Admission*: $5 seniors and students | $8 general
* $3 discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more
