Under the mentorship of Cecile Shellman, Artistic Director of Visual Arts and Exhibitions, Marlana Adele Vassar has created a series of large-scale paintings that reflect visual narratives of local theatrical, music, and dance concerts. These works depict the human figure and decorative patterns. More significantly, Marlana's interpretation of these performances through paint are soulfully poetic.
On Thursday May 23rd, there will be an artist talk at the August Wilson Center's REMIX gallery at 7pm. The gallery will remain open afterwards for a Q&A session and so visitors can enjoy the work. This event is FREE and open to the public, please join us for art, conversation and good company.
