Weather Permitting PGH Oudoor Concert & Other Festivities @ Shadyside Nursery

Please join us for a very unique outdoor, family-friendly concert series at the Shadyside Nursery. 

Admission is only $10 and features performances by 4 live bands on August 18th. Price of admission includes beer and cocktails. 

The 4 bands that will be performing include:

Batamba - Local Latin/Afro pop infused Funk and Soul. Batamba is a heart-pounding, foot-stomping rhythmic explosion that captures the infectious grooves of West Africa, the French Antilles, Brazil, and the Caribbean. Founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the band is a special blend of electric and baritone guitar, horns, percussion, and more percussion that could easily blend into the street festivals of Carnaval in Cuba, Rio, or New Orleans, and is sure to get you moving and smiling. Of note is that some of these musicians also perform with the band Nefarious Frink Gwokestra. For more information on Batamba, please visit

AppalAsia - AppalAsia combines the influences of Appalachian and Asian music traditions with original composition and inspired improvisation to create their unique musical voice. Using erhu, dulcimer, banjo, and vocals they have created a cross-cultural musical experience that draws on their collaboration of traditions with an ear toward the future.
