Hope everyone is looking forward to Saturday's free event where audiences will be treated to holiday favorites sung by Pittsburgh Opera's wonderful resident artists. These artists have gifted voices trained to fill huge theaters like the Benedum -- without the use of microphones -- and so seeing them perform holiday favorites in a more intimate setting will be both fun and special. As a reminder, these free events draw large crowds -- and so it is recommended that you arrive around 11:30 AM (when the doors open) so we have a little time for meeting/greeting prior to the noon performance.

If you're relatively new to Meetup or don't know too many people in the group, I'll be wearing something easy to spot -- a black jacket, ivory sweater, jeans, and scarf.

Also, I'll say something to the volunteers who will be handing out programs so they could perhaps point some of us out.

If you happen to arrive before noon and you see most of the people already in their seats, please just take a seat yourself and enjoy the show which will last about an hour -- and then we can meet afterwards in the area in front of the free tea/coffee/cookie tables for a little reception after the show.

Because of Pittsburgh Opera's great location, this is also a chance to check out some other places in the Strip District.

If anyone is looking for something else on Saturday afternoon, please feel free to join us at 2 PM downtown at Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre for some new holiday plays that have garnered great reviews. Here is the link with all the details.
