Art Swap and Potluck!

This month's special project is an Art Swap! Bring your unwanted art and swap it for someone else's unwanted art - all for free! Leftovers will be donated to Creative Reuse.

Bring art you may have lying around that you dont use anymore but do not want to throw away but want it to go somewhere but not where you are. This is the place to bring it, where someone else has the chance to recreate what you started and finish into a style they love or simply enjoy it as is.

Our special musical guest for this evening is our friend, DJ Smokifantastic! Bring a few bucks for one of her awesome CD compilations!

Open Studio Night is an after-hours gathering and potluck for creative minds 18+. Some people bring a half-completed project to finish while others come empty handed and start something new. It's really what you make of it!

You may use anything from the Bulk Section for FREE during the event. Standard crafting tools are available as well. If you'd like to use other items from the shop, or if you'd like to take bulk materials home with you, please let one of our staff know and we'll ring you up at the register.

This is a pay-what-you-wish event, with donation jars in the event area. Please give what you can to sustain this event!

Please bring a snack to share (vegetarian preferred so everyone can partake), and responsible adults are welcome to bring their own adult beverages.

Although Thursday night's Art Swap and Potluck is a FYI/Non-Hosted Event, you may wish to arrive early to make it a bit easier to spot others in the Meetup.

You can see who is attending by accessing your cell phone via the Meetup event link. There are another 10 RSVPs or so from other Meetups (Free and Almost Free) ... here is the link http://www.meetup.com/pittsburgh-free/events/190588302/

So please feel free to introduce yourself if you think you spot someone.

As always, it's also OK if you attend on your own or with family/friends instead.

I'm sure everyone will have a great time enjoying the DJ music ... checking out each other's art and perhaps finding a new home for some of these pieces! There will also be hands-on activities as some people create some new works. This is a pay-what-you-wish/donation event ... please bring a snack to share while responsible adults are welcome to bring beverages.

So...I'm not an artist. BUT I do have some "art"...things I may have picked up here and there for the frames, or the glass, etc. Is this the sort of thing I can drop off for others to salvage?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
