John Gabriel Borkman

by Henrik Ibsen

Disgraced and destitute following a fraud scandal and imprisonment, John Gabriel Borkman paces alone in an upstairs room, a nightmare to those below. Downstairs his wife and former mistress—who happens to be her sister—are in for a dark and stormy night.

A scorching indictment of 19th century capitalism, Ibsen’s penultimate play is a cautionary message for modern audiences about how unbridled lust for money and power can make you crazy.
