Meetup Description: Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) is proud to be present "American Rhythyms" featuring 3 works, including the world premiere of "Step Touch" featuring the music of Charlie Thomas? Drifters and Pure Gold performing such hits as ?Under the Boardwalk?, ?Up on the Roof? and ?This Magic Moment?
The second work "Anything Goes!" is choreographed to the music of the great Cole Porter recalling an era of nostalgia and glamour in the 1930s-40s.
The final piece "Straight Life" is choreographed to the music of Bruce Springsteen.

This unique performance at the Byham Theater is sure to entertain audiences. Of note are the rave reviews that PBT received last year at the Byham Theater for its unique collaboration with a live music performance by B.E. Taylor, and in 2006 when PBT collaborated with local jazz musicians in showcasing innovative ballet possibilities.

Three of the performances will be supplemented by "audience enrichment" events, included with the price of the ticket. "Afterthoughts" at 10:30 p.m. Friday will be a discussion with PBT Artistic Director Terrence S. Orr and other PBT artists about the show just seen. "Insights" at 7 p.m. Saturday, for which reservations are required, will be an in-depth look at the production. "Talks with Terry" at 1 p.m. Sunday will give ballet lovers the chance to hear Orr speak for himself.
