Albany Bulb - canceled

The Albany Bulb meet-up has been cancelled. If you've been following the updates, we were waiting until the City of Albany clears the Bulb of illegal settlements and cleans-up the area per their recently funded plans. But, the week after their pronouncement, nothing has been done. We cannot plan our meet-up in a time of uncertainty. Best to just wait until the dust has settled, and plan for a date next year.

The meet-up has been cancelled. Please avoid the area until the local agencies have moved the illegal settlers and cleaned-up the area. Hopefully, some of the art and architecture that appeals to AUE will be preserved.

The battle has started- the City of Albany approved the funds and contracts last night to remove the 60-some homeless in the Bulb in the next few weeks. Protestors are staging camp-outs and organizing resistance. If it's not resolved early enough I could move the meet-up to Nov. 17th or cancel it. Let's see where they're at next Mon.

The situation has been tense for several months. Now that the removal plans are in action we might not be allowed in there. The people fighting for their homes will not give up easily. I'm hoping the area isn't "sanitized" to where even the art is cleaned-up. Let's see how it unfolds.

I was out there 2 weeks ago. There were as many homeless encampments as I've ever seen. Lots of art to see too. Hopefully the art will remain even if the homeless are gone.

The Nov. 10th date could change because the City of Albany have plans to remove the illegal settlements in Oct. However, this action might spill over into Nov. and may result in a battlefield of public "helpers" vs. resisters. Something I don't want to walk into. I'll be posting updates.

OK this sounds like a great shoot. I wonder if we can get in there before they remove the settlements?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
