3 year resident of San Francisco, but only recently started becoming interested in urban exploration again. Used to do this in Boston so I am familiar with the ropes.
Everywhere I go, I look for ways to circumvent the normal methods of going somewhere. I want to see the city underneath the exterior everybody else is meant to see. I train my body physically for the purpose of being able to explore difficult places.
All places! I haven't been around much in the city. I like underground things. I like houses and factories and caves.
I will admit, I'm not much of a photographer or an artist. I do take some bombing Polaroids though, in two different styles. (Typical 80's Polaroid style, 70's accordion style where you have to peel the negative away)
Military, churches, schools, hospitals, factories, train stations, underground areas, etc.
Of course, once I am familiar with the mission!
Join Woman Riders Social Meet Up at Peets in Alameda for some casual A-town cruising! with Riderettes!!
I'll admit I'm more into the exploring than the photography. What I get from the exploring is the wonder of the space. Cameras, for me, can get in the way of my eye. Hard to explain. Cool you like caves, I used to spelunk a loooong time ago and am about to meet up with a couple of Bay Area groups who do this kind of stuff. More geologists than not; hopefully cool...
