Are you willing to be part of a group where we watch out for each other? Some people are tempted to go off on their own but this is not acceptable because we've wasted time waiting or searching for them. A clear photo of yourself is required.

Most definitely. Coming from a submarine, everyone's responsibility was the safety of everyone else. We depended on each other to save our lives in the event of an emergency (fire, flooding, etc) and that mindset is perfect for Urbex, in my opinion.

Can you remain calm in a dark abandoned building? Are you fit enough to run with the group and walk along uneven surfaces if the terrain requires it? If not, you shouldn't join this group.

Of course!

Are you willing to sign a liability release waiver? Not that we do risky meetups but because the areas require alertness and caution. Yes or No.

For new members you must upload 2-5 of your recent photos to the current Members' Photo Album. A visual introduction. You have 8 days to do it or your membership is cancelled. See Discussions tab in menu for directions.

Of course, that's the biggest perk, the photos.

A meetup consist of a field shoot and "social" where we relax at an eatery to show a few of our recent photos. Not a critique but to learn from each others efforts and get in the practice of talking "photography". Comment?

My name is Christopher and I just took a job out in San Francisco, coming from the East coast. I recently separated from the Navy as a submariner aboard the USS Rhode Island (SSBN 740) and want to get started with Urbex here in the SF Bay area.
