Introduction

I'm a former Agency (studio) photographer who now goes out and takes his OWN photos, and finds places to see what beauty there is left in the world that I can put "in" my camera. Long-time adventurer, with a love of the out of the ordinary.

Are you willing to be part of a group where we watch out for each other? Some people are tempted to go off on their own during a meetup. This is not acceptable because in the past we've wasted time searching for people.

team work means safety.

Can you remain calm in a dark abandoned building? Are you fit enough to run with the group and walk along uneven surfaces if the terrain requires it? If not, you shouldn't join this group.

Are you willing to sign a liability release waiver? Not that we do risky meetups but because the areas require alertness and caution.

absolutely

We basically field shoot and share photos. To join you must upload 2-5 of your recent photos to current Members' Photo Album. A visual introduction. You have 8 days to do it or your membership is cancelled. See Discussions tab in menu for directions.

that's the point of my doing this..wierd and wacky photos !

A meetup consist of a field shoot and Show & Tell where we relax at an eatery to show a few of our recent photos. It is a chance to learn from each others efforts - hits and near misses - and get in the practice of talking "photography". Comment?

as long as I don't get stuck with the check , this sounds like fun !

  • Hi Dave, and welcome to Bay Area Dancing for Singles and Couples. Love your humor! I see you've RSVP'd for tonight's Merry Mixers Dance in Walnut Creek, where I usually go on 1st and 3rd Fridays every month; tonight, though, I'm attending the Lake Merritt Dance Center's 1st Friday with the Nob Hill Sounds. I hope you'll meet up with our other members; a man who can dance will be be great demand - especially with coordinated two left feet. Please let me know how it went!

  • PS - I totally get the kids thing LOL. My son is a drummer in a fairly successful death/thrash metal band. One day he called me from a gig he was at in Mexico and said "Dad, you'd be amazed, everyone in the audience knows all the lyrics to our songs!" I started laughing and he asked me what was so funny. I said "Garin, how could ANYONE know ANY of the lyrics to your songs?" :-) - Jon

  • Hi Dave! Wow, you worked for Graham? Astounding! I have a story to tell you sometime about when I produced HAiR in Santa Cruz back in 2002! We may both know some people in common. I LOVED the Association, and all the others as well! Welcome aboard and I look forward to meeting you at one of the upcoming meetups! Jon, a "Wild Child from the 60s"!

  • Sure, we can use your sense of humor. But you live a bit far from the East Bay. Do you really want to come all the way out here?
