Artemis will participate in the National River Cleanup, as we have so many years in the past. This is one of our consistent projects, that we do twice a year.
We will work as a team to collect debris, ranging from tiny bits of plastic and metal to tires and shopping carts. This project is always very rewarding, as the smallest pieces of trash and debris impact our wildlife and overall ecological system. I hope you are able to join us on this project.

Time: 9 a.m. - noon

Information on the organization:
The Creek Connections Action Group is a consortium of public agencies and non-profit organizations that share a goal of protecting Santa Clara County's waterways. These agencies include the Santa Clara Valley Water District, Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation, and the City of San José.
The Creek Connections Action Group (CCAG) was formed in San José, California in the fall of 1995 by several local agency coordinators whose goal was to collaborate their creek cleanup efforts in Santa Clara County. Since the group's inception, thousands of volunteers have participated in hundreds of cleanups, removing thousands of pounds of trash each year from creeks, rivers, and lakes in Santa Clara County.
Matadero Creek is along E. Bayshore Road (frontage road to Hwy 101, northbound), in between Embarcadero and San Antonio Roads. It is right next to the Emily Renzel wetlands pond., along the frontage road ( East Bayshore Rd ) and adjacent to Highway 101. It is a beautiful creek location, good for both children and adults! Parking is a little sparse but there is a cutout in the road (dirt area) for parking OR go a bit more down the road to our big MSC yard and park in the visitor’s parking area.
