After this show, people will receive info. on upcoming art shows to curate artists into & for their own art.

Show opens with a reception on October 13 from 1-4. FREE and open to the public!
Liz Long Gallery at Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center will host the show and offer opportunities for black artists to network and gain support for their art. A great chance to view contemporary Chicago African American art.
Additional opportunities take place on:
October 27 at 1 p.m. discussion of which reknown historical black artists should have a statue representing them in upcoming Peace Parks in North Lawndale as part of the Ten Thousand Ripples project. Will include introduction of artists in the show and present for the discussion. FREE
November 3 at 2p.m., a discussion of black neighborhoods in Chicago will include talk of the art in the show to get us started. More discussion of how public art projects can help a neighborhood. Artists may like to sign up to assist with statues in the Peace Parks project. FREE
People who would like to see the show at other times may visit on Saturdays between 11-4 p.m., or make an appt. for a day/time convenient for them.
The exhibit closes on November 17 at 4 p.m.
