The teachers will be so happy about the refreshing new look of their lounge.
Volunteers who can help prepare & paint the walls- please meet us at William Penn School at 2p.m. on Friday, February 15, this week! ring the bell near front door- 1616 W. Avers at 16th street (near Central Park stop on pink line) Wear working clothes and be prepared to scrape, spackle, sand, clean- and then paint the walls! We will also paint the wooden parts of the furniture.
Volunteers who can help on Saturday, February 16, this week! please show up from noon-4p.m. Ring the bell as many tiems as it takes to get the door open! We will paint a second coat on walls & wooden parts of furniture, hang curtains, apply new fabric to couch & chair. We will also introduce plants & throw pillows. We will add a lamp or two. Plus we will hang art on walls!
If you have any tools needed to do any of this work- bring them with you (examples - sand paper and/or an electric sander, drill, electric screwdriver). Also- If you have drop cloths, a lamp, plants, lamp shade, throw pillows, plant stand, large area rug, please bring these items too!
Everyone- bring water bottle and snack for yourself if you think you might get hungry while "on the job"!
