I am an artists working in both 2d and 3d.
I am interested in the limits and possibilities of scientific knowledge. Evidence (the trace left by something) plays a key role in science. But the world is full of traces, some meaningful but mostly meaningless. How do scientitsts distinguish between them? I am as interested in the process of acquiring scientific knowledge as I am in the results. So my art practice seeks to capture both the ambiguities and preciseness of science using the intuitive, holistic language of art.
I want to work with scientists in the field of biological and genetic sciences, not just to visualise particular aspects of scientific discoveries, but to conceptualise and express my puzzlement, as well as the delight and wonder at the new insights and the new ways of looking at the world.
