September Meetup: Network

We tried and failed to watch this last May due to technical difficulties, but most people seemed to still be interested in giving it a second shot, so we're giving it a second shot. And now the technical side of our presentations has been streamlined to avoid such snafus.

A TV network cynically exploits a deranged ex-TV anchor's ravings and revelations about the media for their own profit.

Join us to watch and discuss this incredible landmark film and screenwriting classic directed by the late, great Sindey Lumet.

As always, dinner will be catered in, so please bring $10 for that as well as a snack or a beverage to share.

Parking and the entrance is to the rear of the building.

Please respect the RSVP as we need an accurate head count for food. If you find later that you can't make it, there is usually a waiting list, so please be kind enough to change you RSVP to make room for someone else and also keep our catering planning accurate. Thanks!

I actually enjoyed the smaller group. I am glad I watched this film. Certainly it provided an interesting look at the role of media in our society then and now. So many social and moral issue came up .
I always enjoy hearing what others say about a film. Love this group!

Another screening and great discussion followed as we never have otherwise. Art on Life rocks!

This film was a prophetic look at the way our lives have become overun with media stimulation. I just ahd to run home and say so on the internet!

I'm so sorry to do this last minute, but I'm having car trouble and can't make it tonight. Enjoy Network without me.

I won't make it this month. I have tickets to see Diana Krall at the Greek Theater and I'd rather watch her than Peter Finch. No offense Finch.

Hey, everyone. This is a reminder to please not change your RSVP after Friday night unless you absolutely must, because we will be ordering food from the RSVP count, and if you don't show, someone else may end up having to pay for your food. Also, we usually have a waiting list, so giving people sufficient notice if they are moved to a "yes" is better when done the night before. Italian food is on the menu for this month, and we will have vegetarian options as well. And lastly, if you are coming but don't want to eat, please leave a comment here and I won't order for you. If you are eating, it's 10, and if not, it's 5, which goes as a donation for the building if there is money left over from dinner. Thanks, and see you guys Saturday!!!

Something has come up and I have to work that night, Adam Powell will be the MC for the evening. Sad I'm missing this.

Did not realize last time that I should park in back.
Waited out front until 6:15 and then drove back home. Now I get it!

I did the same thing the first time... But I shook the door until someone yelled to come around the back...

Too bad, have fun! I had the parking and entrance instructions up in months prior, but starting this month I've added it a second time to the event so hopefully it won't happen to someone again!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
