May Meetup: (500) Days Of Summer

As the dawn of summer approaches, before we get in to our summer director's series, our next pick is (500) Days Of Summer.

An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman who doesn't believe true love exists, and the young man who falls for her.

Starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Dechanel, this indie film by Spiderman reboot director Marc Webb made a splash when it debuted just 5 years ago. Altogether retro and  contemporary at the same time, sweet and funny and tragically relateable.

As always, dinner will be catered in, so please bring $10 for that as well as a snack or a beverage to share. It's only $5 to attend if you opt out of dinner. please comment on this page if you are indeed opting out of dinner or if you have any special dietary restrictions.

PARKING AND THE ENTRANCE IS TO THE REAR OF THE BUILDING.

Please respect the RSVP as we need an accurate head count for food. If you find later that you can't make it, there is usually a waiting list, so please be kind enough to change you RSVP to make room for someone else and also keep our catering planning accurate. Thanks!

As I stated in the discussion, I both loved and hated the film. Wonderfully made, visually stunning, and much too close to home in personal identification with the main character...

I am so so so very sorry! I just got home (6 pm!) after what turned out to be a very long day and I am going to miss the movie. I was really looking forward to this and I hate to miss it. I hope everyone has a great time and I look forward to the next event. Please accept my apologies for the last minute flake-out!

Also, is dinner before, after, or during the movie? Thanks.

    May 17

    • Adam W.

Refreshments that people bring are before the movie, and dinner is after the movie.

No dinner for me. Although, if you'd list what food was being served and/or who the caterer is, that would inform my decision.
