I also enjoyed the meet up. Posting a few images that I finally got to develop. Hope they are interesting.

In general, I enjoyed the meetup. I'm quite awed by the quality of some of the shots produced by others, esp compared to my feeble efforts. I posted my one best. My only criticism, is that I didn't think that all of the staff was entirely familiar with each piece of equipment available to use. Suggest a little more preparation in advance re this. As someone else said, it might be nice for members to intro themselves & for there to have been name tags.

Love the Photos everyone! We should find a place in Milwaukee that would hang some of these up. They're so good!

Thanks Art's and Waukesha Floral!!! This was my first "meet-up" and I totally enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one. (I agree with Randy S - would be nice to actually MEET (and get to know) some of the attendees.)

I had a great time at the event and bumped into some old friends. I agree, next time it would be nice to have some introductions, but with an event like this with people stopping in at various times that could be difficult.

I totally missed seeing you at the MeetUp. I'm glad you were able to make it, and your photos on Flickr are great!

How do I download photos for the Macro Waukesha Floral event. Do I do FB or email?

If you go to the photo for this event you'll see an "Add photos" link right below the event title. Or click on the icon at the top of this page that looks like a stack of images and says "upload." Photo Page: http://www.meetup.com...

I'm so glad you all had a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone who came and made it a wonderful event!
I hear you on the getting to know each other and doing some type of introduction. I'll look into the critique idea, but usually there is a charge for that because we have to pay the staff to run it. If you are OK with that I can schedule something. Or we could meet for breakfast or lunch at our next outing in April. What do you all think?
FYI I will post on Tuesday information about our April event.

I am generally ok with paying a fee for outings and other meetings. Sometimes the best places to photograph have a fee associated with them and we should not discount those opportunities just because there is a fee. Fee's also have the ability to open doors that may not otherwise be available. I do all types of photography and have always paid fees when models are involved so this is not a new concept.

      March 30, 2014

    • Mary P.

I have no problems with fees. I like the critiques because you are sharing ideas and gaining knowledge. I have taken a couple of classes that were two day events with exclusive hands on help and availability.

Also, here is the link to our facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/artscameras for those of you asking about it. We are having a macro photography contest starting April 1. You can find all the information on our Facebook page.

It was very nice. I didn't know anyone there but I did talk to a few folks as they took photos. I enjoyed having access to so many photo opportunities.

we need some kind of event that we can get to know each other. It seems so awkward trying to introduce yourself every time you turn around. Maybe if we had a critique after our events that would help us get to know each other and the staff of Art's.

    2 · March 29, 2014

  • Patty G.

It was okay. It would have been nice if an effort would have been made to introduce everyone...stand up, give your name, how much experience you have as a photographer, etc...just something to break the ice.

I would love to try out a macro lens. Can I reserve one?

    March 10, 2014

    • Art's Cameras P.

Macro lenses are so much fun. There's something called Extension tubes too. Those can get you some serious detail!

      March 10, 2014

    • Annie

Thanks. I'm looking forward to the event.

    I thought I had rsvp'd already....but just in case...

    March 10, 2014

  • Art's Cameras P.

Jamie is correct. We will have some tripods, reflectors and macro lenses you can borrow.

    March 10, 2014

  • Jamie J

I attended this last year and tripods are allowed. In fact they are encouraged but you can also borrow one of Art's onsite for those who don't own one.

    March 9, 2014

  • Randy S.

    Will tripods be allowed?
