Wildlife Photography Workshop & Zoo Shoot

Special Tamron Zoo Workshop

The big event at Art's Cameras in May!! It's a great workshop and very popular.

The classes will be held at Art's Cameras Plus and the Workshop portion is at the Milwaukee County Zoo!

There is a fee for this workshop. It covers your classes, admission and parking for the zoo, refreshments (not lunch), and a photographic tour at zoo.

Must sign up at:

"A very special workshop and shooting opportunity, presented by Tamron.

This 3-day interactive workshop begins with a 2 hour class, which will cover techniques to improve your photos in nature. We’ll discuss lighting, composition, exposure tricks, and which lenses to use in order to turn those nice snapshots into fantastic images.

Then, on Saturday, we’ll meet at the Milwaukee County Zoo (parking and admission is included) for a day of shooting all the exhibits.

In the final workshop session, on the following week, you can present your best images for review in a lively critique session in which we’ll discuss the composition, lighting and techniques used to capture the shots. We’ll exchange ideas on what worked and what could have been done to improve the shot. Following the critique session, you can submit your best images to our Zoo Photo Contest.

Grand prize for the Zoo Photo Contest will be a Tamron[masked]mm lens, valued at $450! Other great prizes will be awarded for 2nd-5th place."

Just a thought, Perhaps Art's should keep the workshops separate from the FOCUS outings. That would cause less confusion as to what's a paid event and what's a free FOCUS event.

Thanks for your input. I totally get what you are saying. We will be more cautious next time. One of the benefits of being in the Focus Group is discounted rates to the Paid Workshops. Also, since many Workshops sell out, we offer them to Focus Group members first so they have the best opportunity to participate. So we will still post some paid events, not all, don't worry, but ones that pertain to the focus group event or when there is a big event going on, like the zoo. This way all the Focus Group members will still have a chance to sign up before anyone else and usually at a discounted price. :)

Is it possible for Focus group members to attend the zoo shoot without taking the pre and post. Classes? More people might attend.

    Hello Everyone!
Just wanted send you the link for the Zoo Event.

There has been some confusion. This is a paid event. It costs $149 and you will get to go to a class, the zoo, use awesome Tamron lenses for free at the zoo, and get to go to a critique the following week. You also get the chance to enter the Tamron contest where you can win a[masked]mm Tamron lens. If you follow the link above you can sign up.
We will not be having a free meetup in the month of May because this event makes life very busy. But we will have 2 meetups in June.
Let me know if you have any questions.
