Celebrate Connecticut at the Opening Sunday of the Coverntry Market

June 2nd is the opening Sunday for the Conventry Farmer's Market.  It is New England culture and heritage as it's summer time best. Loads of local Food, music and local arts and crafts are usually represented.. Every Sunday is a bit different.. http://coventryfarmersmarket.com/summer-market/

It’s Connecticut’s largest and most diverse farmers’ market. We offer the freshest and best-tasting locally-grown produce, helping to preserve the tradition of small farms in the region. We specialize in organic, heirloom, ethnic and gourmet varieties of fruits and vegetables, and offer grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, milk, yogurt, smoked bacon, rustic breads, farmstead cheeses, European pastries, salsa, pesto, fresh herbs, cut flowers, chocolate fudge, honey, maple syrup, and more!

The market also features the work of local artists and artisans. Purchase handmade wares from those who crafted them and learn how they were created … think hemp clothing, goat’s milk soaps, beeswax candles, stoneware, herbal tinctures, handcrafted beadwork, vintage cotton tote bags, and handspun yarns.

New England’s BEST farmers’ market by Yankeee Magazine AND selected as one of USA Today’s “Top 10 great places to shop at a farmers market!”

The Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market is like a country fair every Sunday… the old-fashioned kind, with farmers, produce, freshly baked pies, sparkling jars of preserves and pickles, handmade goods, and fiddlers. New England Travel Magazine calls ours “Connecticut’s preeminent farmers’ market.” June through October, it’s the largest and most diverse farmers’ market in Connecticut.

I had a great time and fun to meet all of you. This was a great idea, Gabriele. It didn't hurt to eat healthy lettuce all week either!

If you like food you'll love this market; everything from fresh produce, bakery items ,sweets,
cheese, food vendors and more. Best part of the day: meeting five lovely women, and then going home with a giant head of lettuce.

I got a message on facebook that you can get coffee and breakfast there. I assume a food truck.. Not a sit down but it is breakfast.

This is the same day as "Driving Miss Daisy" at the synagogue in Middletown. It starts at 4 PM. During the intermission there will be an Afro-Semitic band, so the afternoon will celebrate diversity. For more information, please write to me.
