Summer Picnic / Green Fair (Regent's Park)

Since summer is now 'officially' here (more or less), we thought it would be a great time for group members to gather together in the open air, enjoy the sunshine and revel in each other's company with a nice picnic on Regent's Park (Cumberland Green)*

The idea is for this to be very much a 'member-led' event, so it would be great if those coming along could bring food/drink~, 'entertainment', etc. to share and help make it a most enjoyable and pleasurable experience for all :)

Look forward to hopefully seeing many of you there!

* This meetup coincides with the inaugural London Green Fair

"a free festival that reflects the green aspirations and achievements of London as a whole, as well as providing an enjoyable and engaging day out for people from all walks of life"

Festival info: http://www.londongreenfair.org/index.html

~ Food/drink should also be available at the venue

A pleasurable afternoon with good company in rather lively surroundings (at least up until the heavens opened!) Thanks everyone for coming (and for all the nibbles :)

We had fun. We only saw 3 acts: Wara, Yaaba Funk (who ended with a wicked mashup of a Marley track and Bushom Mashie) and Sam and the Womp- what a great festival band! Very good fun we thought and good luck to 'em getting such a bedraggled crowd going. Left before Latin Dub Sound System but I was drenched by then and Sam & co were already having trouble with the sound system: would be interested to hear if they played/how it was?

Meetup arrangements: Once you get to Cumberland Green, please call/text one of the numbers below. Since it is expected the park will be quite busy, the plan is to have a picnic spot / 'base' from which people can come-and-go / explore the festival at their leisure. We'll put down some blankets (and if appropriate, some 'signage') to hopefully make the spot more visible from a distance, however please ensure your mobile phones are working so we can give you directions to the precise spot.
