Artists, dealers, hipsters, and collectors thronged upstate this weekend for the NADA Hudson, deemed the “Phish show of art fairs.” 51 participants, from far and wide, aimed to showcase projects that responded to the historic venue. Overall, it was a cohesive and buoyant success.


Locked Out of Sotheby’s: Auction House Puts Multi-Million Dollar Artworks at Risk

It’s not a strike, it’s a lock-out. Sotheby’s barred its team of art handlers from entering the building last Friday, bringing ongoing negotiations to a halt. Collectors have need for concern; the company has supposedly replaced its experienced team with low-paid, temporary workers with little or no art handling backgrounds.


Jersey City Museum Unlikely To Reopen

Bad economies are usually boons for museums, so long as you’re not in Jersey City. Jersey Journal reported Saturday that the Jersey City museum would likely not reopen to the public. Its holdings, a victim of foreclosure, would likely revert to bank ownership, according to museum chairman Ben Dineen.
