Handel in the Wind

Red Priest are AMAZING!  I saw them a couple of years ago and they are not to be missed.  Stuffy classical music they are not

Red Priest’s sell-out concert in the last Festival left audiences literally stamping their feet for more, so the ensemble is back this year with their new show. Featuring the glorious music of Handel, Bach and Vivaldi, this extraordinary acoustic foursome communicates the essence of early and baroque music with an audacious energy and passion that dispels any notion that classical music is stuffy and boring.  Described by music critics as ‘visionary and heretical’, ‘outrageous yet compulsive’, ‘wholly irreverent and highly enlightened’, ‘completely wild and deeply imaginative’, with a ‘red-hot wicked sense of humour’, Red Priest take a ‘break-all-rules, rock-chamber concert approach to early music’ whilst retaining the absolute integrity of the music they play.

We're sitting in Row H and hoping to take over most of the row, so if you haven't got your ticket yet please get your skates on!

I was so impressed with the ability of this group, and hope that we can perhaps go to see the intended programme when the group is in London at the end of next month. I have asked on their website for an update on Julie's health, as if anything is broken that might be a while before she can pe

Not my cup of tea, hence my half-time departure, but worth a try. Thanks to Caroline for organising this.

A fantastic evening that really showcased the musical ability of this group. Not many people could put together a whole new programme at such short notice. I would love to see them again when the violinist is recovered from her tumble.

What a good evening! The violinist couldnt perform having taken a tumble down some stairs earlier that day but the remaining trio gave us a wonderful show of mixed pieces. Very talented individuals! Very much enjoyed and I would see them again.

    Quite an evening!

Just noticed what will probably be a quite different take on baroque, well, Bach actually.

Looks interesting! Also looks like getting on to half the seats being sold already when you look at the booking system. https://www2.guildford.gov.uk/electricpeo/hall.asp does anyone have preference for seating (I dont know the place!) then maybe we can jump on at the same time and buy together? (id rather sit with folks if possible ;) )
