Every month the Electric Theatre hosts a Jazz Cafe with live music from 7.30 and dinner. Tickets cost £8, plus of course dinner (very good value at around £8 for main and £4 for starter).
In June it's 'the hard-swinging warm-toned tenor and flute player, Jo Fooks, won the ‘Young Scottish Musician of the Year’ award and went on to study at the Guildhall in London and the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, before being recruited by the late Humphrey Lyttelton into his eight-piece band.
With renowned jazz drummer Buster Birch, guitarist Dominic Ashworth, and Marianne Windham on double bass.'
“I make no apology for singing her praises here. A brilliantly inventive player and composer…” Humphrey Lyttelton on Radio 2 “Best of Jazz”
This is a very popular event with our members and as it's a small venue I've limited numbers to six. Please do not RSVP without buying your ticket at the same time. It is not fair to other members to take up a place if you have not purchased a ticket.
