Play chess with the best players around Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling and other parts of Loudoun County. Open to absolute beginners to higher-rated players. You can be a member of another club, and still come to our chess events. Playing is free in our meet-up events. No donation jars.

In year 2012, we have more activities. Of course, we have the First Saturday Quad, yes that's usually on the first Saturday of the month, which starts on January 7. The other major event is the Third Saturday Swiss starting on January 21.

We have already started the Road to Mastery Chess Program, which aspires to bring its students to the expert level, in preparation to be come a Master. We will try to provide the tools for the student to increase his or her rating while he/she goes up the levels. The Mastery program has twelve levels, which coincides with the rating of the players. We have IM Nikolay Andrianov providing direction to this program. His expertise on the Russian and Philippine system makes our program possible. He shall be able assisted by FM Paolo del Mundo, NM Shawn Hoshall and other high rated players of Ashburn Chess Club.

IM Andrianov has a Bachelor's degree in Chess Training from the Moscow Central Physical Culture & Sport Institute. He was the Soviet junior champion in the Soviet Union in 1980. More background can be seen in this link

IM Andrianov attends the national scholastics. He has assisted our campers who have gone to the national competition. IM Nikolay has taught in Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Indonesia and the Philippines. This summer we have three summer camps - in June, July and August. Also, we are picking qualifiers from the camp and other tournaments for Ashburn's Round-Robin Tournament for the Moscow Open. We will award the best scholastic player to go to the Moscow Open, with flight tickets to the winning player and accompanying parent and a $1000 to cover expenses. Our club is located at Ashburn Chess Center, at 44927 George Washington Blvd, Ashburn, VA 20147, just besides our original headquarters, Sakasa.

Ashburn Chess Club is the place to meet people who love chess, and care about chess development for all levels from the young and the old. If you just want to play chess, come over and play with among the best players in this part of Loudoun area.

Aside from our regular meet-ups on Saturdays, we also meet on Tuesdays at 5:00 pm. Sakasa has agreed to extend its closing time to 7:30 so we we can take snacks if needed. So those who cannot make it on Saturdays, can come to our club on Tuesdays.

From time to time, Ashburn Chess Club will invite trainers and high-rated players to foster chess development. Anyone who can travel to its meet-up locations can join. Even if you are a member of another club, Ashburn Chess Club welcomes you to our membership. Also, any member can air his views as freely and uncensored as possible so that we can all contribute to the development of chess in our area. If you have any ideas, they are welcomed.
