The attendees were very generous with their information. It confirmed my decision to start learning WordPress, even though I'm not planning to become an expert. And then I will know enough to know what I need from a professional, if necessary, to manage my website and blog. thanks to all.

I plan to come but I'm VERY frustrated with WP - have yet to find a theme with the look and flexibility I need. I ned my time for other things than going through theme after theme trying them out.

If you attended WordCamp Atlanata - please come prepared to share something you learned :)

If you didn't attend WordCamp, you can share something you've learned recently. Remember there's always someone who is coming behind you - no matter how little think you know, you know something that someone else in the group doesn't. And explaining it will help you learn and remember.

http://op111.net/53/ It seems that whenever I hit Enter to start a new line, my partial message (post) is automatically posted before I finish with the composition. I keep wanting to see "Send" or "Submit" or "Publish button. Thanks, Clyde, for the reply. I gain a lot from the meetups by having someone that is experienced go through and explain the processes. It can save a lot of time, and in some cases a lot of frustration. The ability to have a dialog and be able to ask questions is invaluable.

It looks like I need to start doing what they did in the Teletype days -- entering "...STOP...' whenever I want to break a message into different segments or paragraphs.

    HELP NEEDED!
    .

I am in need of an experienced WordPress developer to assist me with creating my first WordPress site. I have a HTML/CSS site that I want to redo with WordPress. So, most of the site needs to look like a traditional HTML/CSS site and similar to the current HTML site, but the site will also have a blog. Naturally, the content is already available.
    .

Requirements: Have developed at least 3 commercial WordPress sites, that are currently online, with at least 2 of them having a traditional "look" rather than just a blog "look". The work will be mostly face-to-face, rather than remote.
    .

    Pay: $20.00 per hour.
    .

    Contact me for additional details.
    . Thank you,
    . Jim Holloman

Jim, would it be OK if we post this on Meet the Geeks? We have a job listing that gets some eyes on it.

How about a meetup focusing on using BackupBuddy to migrate WP builds from their staging areas to their final destinations?

  • Kristen S.

Sorry I missed the SEO presentation. I've already heard it was great! I'd love to talk about WP. I've learned SO much this last month...
