Let's meet at Scully's, tried and true!

My most sincere apologies to everyone that joined us at the Thirsty Monk, hoping to participate in engaging conversation. Lesson learned: with so many new and interesting people attending the meetup, we can no longer afford to hop blindly from venue to venue. We need a regular location with an atmosphere conducive to having a discussion.

The consensus has spoken: The Asheville Skeptics return to Scully's, and we hope to see you there! With rare exception, this will be our standard meetup location once again.

Home is where the funnel fries are served.

Rant o' the Week

This week, Kevin will be presenting on the topic of alternative medicine! All scheduled presentations were pushed back due to the intolerable noise level at the Monk.

Despite being dark and gloomy, the weather report is implying a low chance of rain, so I put together a few tables outside.

...unless we've upset the climate enough to not get much of a winter this year.
Hmm, climate-change denial might be a good topic for someone. :)

Yeah, I think keeping a more stable locale that we know to be workable is best for nights that we plan to have targeted presentations or discussions. Maybe we can go exploring new venues once a month on the weeks when that "Meet the Geeks" group is at Scully's, since they fill up the downstairs. Sitting outside worked out nice last week, but I guess it'll soon be too chilly for that...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
