Love hearing the excitement about travel and where and how folks travel.

I don't do mountain climbing, heavy hiking, and other extreme stuff. I'm more of a reader-at-the-cafe', art museum sort. Sorry.

It doesn't have to be extreme, barbara...we can all enjoy the "earth museum" even if we drive to it. :) See Chuck's experience!

I realized I got caught up in the "adventure" word. Adventure travel is a genre that includes jungle hikes, mountains, etc. I don't do that stuff, but I have raced to Hawaii on a sailboat and am currently launching my travel career by planning a solo trip to Amsterdam. Not much on photography anymore, I go to immerse myself in a place.

For me, it's gotta be the Alaskan Cruise I took in 2006. Our ship had to take the inside passage due to a storm. It was so beautiful. When I think of blue though, I mostly think of the blue in the Mendenhall Glacier as well as the blue sky, water and mountains!

Three years ago, my wife and drove up to Virginia and did 8 days on the Blue Ridge Parkway, camping all along the way. It was awesome and right in our own backyard!!! Put it on your local must-do list.

I will be there! If anyone has any follow-up questions about "travel photography", feel free to hit me up at this meeting. Thanks! By the way... Here's the link to the Vagabond Photo Walks MeetUp that I launched the other day: http://www.meetup.com/Vagabond-Photo-Walks-WNC/
